Nelson Pine Industries Limited is a world leader in the production of high-performance wood products, including its Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL).
LVL is made by laminating together thin sheets of wood that have been peeled from a log, like pencil shavings from a pencil, to make a very even-strength product.
The sheets, known as veneers, are graded to different levels of strength. They can be stacked in different ways to produce timber with particular properties of strength, stiffness and stability – a bit like following a recipe - to make a product that builders and engineers can rely on.
NelsonPine LVL is so strong it can be used as an alternative to structural steel in construction, creating a warmer-looking effect.
